They don't need that present!
The nice ones would hide their original reaction under a facadé
Dear Reader,
Good morning to you. I had a goodnight rest and I hope you did too.
In today's Episode, I'll be talking about "Gifting". Yes, and in a not usual way. I'm talking presents not money.
This form of gifting is meant for the rich - why do I say so? Let's see an example.
Recently, my mother was gifted an expensive 'lace' material (For my readers outside Nigeria, 'Lace' is a traditional piece of clothing). It was from a rich guardian whose child was schooling where she's teaching.
My mom got that gift with mixed feelings. She didn't need an expensive material to wear. She needed money.
In the case of rich people, they will gift each other expensive gifts like golden earring and other jewelries and you don't hear the recipient weighing how much the money used to purchase that item could have done for her.
That's a rich people thing. They can afford what they need and they don't mind if someone gifts them an expensive material they don't need.
Is there a way we can work through this? I don't know.
But, I think that as a rich person trying to gift someone that's poor, call them if you can and ask what they need.
Try that to avoid "My dear, I could have settled our rent with the price of this…." spoiling your moment.
Got better ideas, let me know by replying to this email.
Thank you and have a nice day. Psssst… pray for me too. I got an Exam today.
