Someone in the crowd could be the one you need to know
If you're the someone ready to be found
I remember walking towards my department building with my course mate and he asked me how people like me manage to get opportunities online and my answer was simple. Showing up regularly.
I'm guilty for not showing up regularly this year but what I did between 2022-2023 went a long way for me.
He asked me how many posts I made in a week and I told him that I make twice daily - except for sundays.
Truth is, I never did the weekly count. I just went on with the daily counting. I made a post every morning by 7am and every evening by 7pm in 2022.
The strike helped a whole lot too, so I definitely had time.
Right now, I keep getting memories everyday from Facebook and I cringe at most of the posts I made in 2022 - I was 18 so that's understandable.
The cringe posts did inspire many people and to some extent, I still milk the values I shared back then.
My go-to quote was Leonardo Di Caprio’s line in Titanic which was “....to make each day count” and boy, did I do that?
Now, I'm gradually working towards putting myself in people's faces again and my go-to quote now is Emma Stone and her friend's song lyrics in La La Land:
“... someone in the crowd could be the one you need to know
The one to finally lift you off the ground
…….
If you're the someone ready to be found”
So, my journey on becoming THE someone ready to be found starts again.
Note: This letter was written by a totally sane person.
You aren't unhinged anymore? Good!
You have to be in the crowd for you to find someone you need there. Being in the crowd can be stressful, how well can you navigate?
