I got my laptop during the lockdown period in 2020.
I was in high school and due to Covid, we sat at home whiling away our time on the internet.
Months into the lockdown, my computer teacher (my mentor too) convinced my parents to enroll me into a training center to learn a Tech skill.
Funny enough, I didn't know what a Tech skill meant exactly... I got to the center and I was given a list of courses to choose from. Web Development caught my eye and I went for it.
Turned out I was going to need a laptop if I was to go for the course. We are not rich so, I was surprised when my parents agreed to buy one for me.
Soon enough, the laptop was bought. The price was 60K.
A month into my learning, school resumed and I had to quit the training and focus on my external exams that was coming up.
Now, at some point, my parents thought that they wasted money by purchasing a computer but, that thought was quickly discarded.
After high school, I re-entered the Tech world and by then, the price of laptop computers had already skyrocketed.
My laptop that cost N60K in 2020 was now N150K in the market. That's 150% increase.
If we didn't buy it that 2020, we wouldn't have been able to afford it when I finished high school so, I believe everything happens for a reason.

To my readers outside Nigeria, do have a productive Monday. To my fellow Nigerians, it's a holiday for us. Have fun and pray for the incoming government administration.
